About Pri Mar

Pri Mar Petroleum, Inc. was founded in 1972 as a distributor of Citgo petroleum products to farm, industry and home heating customers.  It served the areas of Cass, Van Buren, Berrien, St. Joseph, and Allegan counties then as we continue to do today.

In the years following, other commonly owned companies were merged into Pri Mar Petroleum: Pomeroy Fuel Company from South Haven in 1974 and Priebe Brothers Company from Benton Harbor in 1980.  This along with the addition of other petroleum distributors (Distefano Oil from Bangor in 1983, Shoreline Oil from Bridgman in 1989, Tobias Oil from Benton Harbor in 1993, Strefling Oil from Baroda in 2000, and Ewalt Oil from Berrien Springs in 2002), we have continued the steady growth of Pri Mar Petroleum, Inc.  This has since allowed our company to represent four very popular petroleum brands:  BP/Amoco, Citgo, Marathon, and Mobil

In 1976, our first convenience store opened in Stevensville.  It was one of the first convenience stores in our area.  The success of this store led to the conversion of other gasoline service stations into convenience stores.  As of today, we have 14 company operated convenience stores called Pri Marts, an adaptation of the company name Pri Mar.

Pri Mar Petroleum also supplies 24 independent Michigan reseller companies from as far north as Grand Rapids and as far east as Vicksburg.  They rely on us to provide them with fuels to keep their convenience stores operating.  Our sister company, Priebe Transport, delivers our fuels to these resellers, our own convenience stores, and our bulk plants.
